Defeat in first home match

A poor performance in our opening home league fixture. We seldom looked like scoring and fell behind on 18 minutes when the ball was played low across the box for Tom Phillips to side-foot it into an empty net. Ieuan Owen equalised on 32 minutes when he cut in from the right to place the ball past the Tafs keeper. However within a minute a defensive mix up saw Sam Johnson beat Ben Haines to the loose ball and net with ease. In the second half we had several chances, Ieuan Owen seeing a shot saved and Liam Griffiths shooting over the bar from close range but all in all this was a deserved win for the visitors. Hopefully we can turn it around on Friday when promoted Newport City are the visitors.
